Women Owned Law (WOL), the national nonprofit organization that empowers women lawyers to achieve success in the business of law, today announced that it will present two awards at its Fifth Annual Symposium, to be held in Philadelphia on April 17, 2024.
The award for the Women-Owned Law Firm of the Year will be presented to Tadler Law LLP, led by Ariana J. Tadler. The firm has distinguished itself as a leader in innovation in its litigation wins; eDiscovery prowess; creative marketing; policies advocating work/life balance; and high levels of employee satisfaction.
The Distinguished Member Service Award will be presented to Nancy Mertzel, Managing Partner, Mertzel Law. This award recognizes a member of WOL who has given long and meritorious service to the organization. Ms. Mertzel, the current President, previously served as Vice President and as Chair of the New York Regional Steering Committee, with concomitant service on the Board of Directors. She also led the Strategic Planning process. During her term so far, WOL transitioned management of the organization, improved its financial position, and enhanced member engagement with a new programming model focused on fun, in-person and virtual events.
Ivy Slater and Kristen Bergsten, Co-Chairs of the Award Selection Committee said, “Ariana Tadler launched a law firm in 2019, focused with practices in class action, complex litigation, risk management, antitrust, eDiscovery, and strategic legal business consulting services. In less than five years, the firm has achieved a formidable reputation among its peers.”
